The Team

Toby is your lead guide. He has been a green laner and 4x4 enthusiast for as long as he can remember. He and his family have owned every kind of Land Rover over the years, from Series I's to 101 Forward Controls. Toby started doing aid work in Bosnia back in 1994 and like so many international visitors to the country, very quickly fell in love with it. In 2006 Toby finally realised his dream of buying a house there with his wife Mirén.

For Green Laning Tours our Land Rover is equipped with:

    • Twin ARB diff-lockers
    • Steering guard, front and rear diff guards, rock sliders, Mantec fuel tank guard
    • Safari Snorkel raised air intake
    • Milemarker 9500SE winch
    • Ground Anchor
    • Insa Turbo Sahara tyres
    • Garmin GPS 60CSX
    • UK channel CB radio

Our Niva Support Vehicle

Our 2006 1.7i Lada Niva has uprated pro-comp springs and gas shocks and is used as a support vehicle on our 4x4 Mountain Safaris to carry guests and pull our chefs kitchen trailer. Niva's are the most popular 4x4's in Bosnia and are respected for their mechanical simplicty and agility - Bosnians have nicknamed them "mountain goats". This is really the most authentic way to travel through the Bosnian mountains.

Our Approach to the Mine Risk in Bosnia

For your own safety please do not explore off-road in Bosnia without a guide.

We take the threat of mines and unexploded ordinance in the Bosnian countryside extremely seriously. We know people injured by mines in the last conflict, and your guides have families to go home to, so we do not see the threat as an opportunity to seek thrills or to impress our guests. We never drive on trails where there is any known or suspected risk. We have used up-to-date official mine maps at every step of our planning and exploration to ensure maximum safety. We have used these in conjunction with locally sourced knowledge from veterans, villagers and shepherds etc. NONE of the trails we will take you on are suspected by either the authorities or by local users to have a mine risk associated with them. ALL of them have been driven by us before, on many occasions. Please see our TERMS & CONDITIONS for more information.
